Splurge and Save: Back to School

It's almost time to be going back to school! I know some schools start this week, but mine starts on the 26th! Only 2 more weeks of summer left! But now is the time to be "back to school" shopping. There are so many great deals and discounts going on that it's beyond amazing. I like to dress a little warmer in school just because the classrooms tend to be so cold! In this splurge and save, you save a grand total of $453. That's a huge savings. That's also a lot of back to school clothes!

Splurge and Save: Workout Time

I'm a very simple girl when it comes to what I wear when I workout. I like my leggings, sneakers, sports bra, and a top. All inexpensive. Except my shoes, but those were a gift. I'm working my ass off, sweating like a pig, probably smelling horrible. So why would I spend a ton of money on workout clothes that I'm basically destroying? I have no one to impress at the gym. And, really, you shouldn't be trying to impress anyone but yourself at the gym. And that's not based on how you look, it's based on how H.A.M you can go while you're there. Anyways, the "save" look puts $275 back in your wallet! This could buy you 4 or 5 pairs of Nike's! Save on your clothes, invest in your shoes!

Splurge and Save: Tourist Attraction

Whenever Briam and I go to a theme park, Disney World mostly, I always like to wear something comfortable. I want to look nice, but if I'm going to be spending 10 hours walking around a park, you better believe that I will be comfortable. My favorite thing to wear while at theme parks is leggings. They're super easy to style and extremely comfortable. And, bonus, they dry quickly if you go on a water ride. Between the splurge and save looks, you save $581. That's more vacation time, more goodies to buy, a nicer hotel, and so much more! Why spend your money on clothes when you could spend it making memories?

Splurge and Save: Vacation Style

I love a bright and colorful dress for summertime. Especially for vacation! I've already talked about how much I love wedges, but when you're on vacation and you're doing a lot of walking you want to be comfortable. So wedges it is! The total savings on the "save" look is $569! That could easily pay for a longer vacation, more activities, or more shopping while you're visiting the beautiful destination! Save that money and enjoy your vacation!

Splurge and Save: Bikini Beach Time

Summer time = beach time! My logic is that you shouldn't spend a ton of money on something you're just going to bake in the sun, stain with sunscreen or tanning lotion, and then dunk in the ocean. I just don't see the point. But I do understand that you still want to look fashionable! Here I've put together 2 bikini options that will save you $265 if you choose to save! You know what you could use that money for? Another bikini, sunscreen, a hotel in the Keys, a lounge chair, a sun hat. Save it!

Splurge and Save: 4th of July

When I think about the Fourth of July, I'm always flooded with memories of barbecues, fireworks, and family time. In high school, when I lived at home, we would always sit on the deck of my dad's house because we could see the fireworks happening down at the river. But sadly when I moved to Tallahassee for college, I never really went out for any events on the 4th. Only once when my dad and step sister came to visit did I go see fireworks. After I moved back home, but with Briam this time, we would go down to Palm Beach Gardens and sit on the roof of the parking garage at City Place, eating ice cream, and watch the fireworks from there. Not sure what the plans are for this year, but either way, it'll be fun.

Now that we've had a random trip down memory lane, I wanted to give you all a summery yet sexy outfit that you could rock on the 4th! Being in South Florida, and dying in the heat, tanks are a must! Always remember, no matter what the occasion, there's always a way to save!

Splurge and Save

For this splurge and save post, I wanted to give you a simple look that you could wear for Easter! Being that it's spring as well, I wanted to create a look that gave off a fresh vibe! The splurge look costs almost $1000. That is crazy! Granted these looks will work great for Easter, spring, and all summer, but that's just too much! The save look barely tops $100. Now that's much better!

Splurge and Save

With the temperature starting to warm up in down here in SoFla, I'm loving spring style skirts! You all know that mint/teal is my absolute favorite color, and then you add the lace, I'm sold. Just not sold on the splurge outfit. It's spring, it gets hot here, I don't want to spend $2,672 on an outfit that I will sweat in. Gross, I know. Such is life. The shirt in the save outfit is only $10, love it. If I'm going to wear a basic shirt, I don't want to spend much on it. Either way, I love both looks, but I always choose to save.

Splurge and Save

Well hello winter! Back so soon? It was beautiful and warm down here for a few days and then out of nowhere, it was freezing cold! Well not freezing obviously, but low 40's is pretty darn cold to me! Just when I though I could pack up my winter coats! I'm in love with an off-white double breasted coat, but why spend $325 on it? By going with the save option, you are saving over $500! You could go buy yourself a ton of hot chocolate with that!

Splurge and Save

I love combining neutral colors with black. To me, it creates a laid back look, that still seems put together! You can go to lunch with your friends, run errands, or even do something work related in these looks! Even though both looks are perfect for most occasions, I would most definitely go with the save look! You would be saving $1,162 by choosing the inexpensive option! Much more money for other things!

Splurge and Save

I'm a huge sucker for colored denim. B thinks it's silly, but if I could, I would have an entire spectrum of these jeans! From pastels, to neons, to dark washes, I need them all. One day, one day. Albeit in the future, I'm still not going to want to spend a ton of money on each pair! I mean if I'm going to have every color imaginable, I want to keep the cost on the lower end! For this splurge and save, I've put together a basic look that works great for running errands, a lazy Sunday, or lunch with your best friend! And of course, the mint denim is amazing!

This 'splurge and save' post is all about, you guessed it, Valentine's Day! Three more days! If you plan on going out on Thursday, unlike me and B, you want to look fabulous! I love polka dots! I think they're so cute and absolutely adorable! By choosing the "save" outfit, you save $1,150! Do you know how many more outfits you could buy with that? Or bills you could pay... Either way, if you want to be economically savvy and save your money for other things, go with the "save" outfit. There's absolutely no reason to spend so much money on a basic outfit. Always look for brands that are low in price but high in quality!

Splurge and Save

Here in Florida, it's pretty common to find us wearing shorts and sweaters. It balances us out. The way most of the winters are here, you need either a sweater or pants, but rarely both. Of course we have really "cold" days where we look like eskimos, but this is for the most part. Why do I love this style? Because I stay just warm enough and just cool enough all at the same time!

Splurge and Save

Umm over $3,00 for a dress?? No thanks. I'll take the simpler, less budget crushing dress. Although the shoes are comparable in price, this just shows you that you can still save a little bit of money! There's only a $20 difference, but those $20 can go a long way! Now with the dress, I understand that the splurge dress is probably hand crafted with the finest materials that took a year to make. But why? In my opinion, it looks like they threw on some confetti and called it a day. The save dress is way more versatile and $3,193 cheaper.

Fun fact: The splurge dress with sell in a hot second in the ballroom world. Having been to a few competitions, as a retailer, I've seen plenty of dresses like this that cost just as much if not more.

One of the many things that I adore about Polyvore is that it allows you to search for similar items within various price ranges. For example, you see a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti pumps that you want but are in no mood to pay $695, choose your price range and search! The pumps below are from Charlotte Russe and only cost $33. That's a $662 savings! Doing research before you shop is a great way to both, save money and build a fashionable wardrobe!

Splurge and Save

Why spend over $1,000 on an outfit when you can get a similar one for less than $200? Recently, so many affordable stores have upped the quality of their merchandise in order to compete with the high end stores! I couldn't be more over the moon about this! I'm ALL about quality, but I don't want to watch my bank account dwindle away or my credit card debt skyrocket. Now knowing that I can go shopping, say at Target or Charlotte Russe, and get amazing quality for an amazing price, I'm beyond myself with excitement!
