Pinterest Favorites

The beauty and fashion pins were crazy this past week! It was so hard to choose my 5 favorites. I was legit about to just link my boards and be like "Here ya go..." but obviously that wouldn't be the most reasonable option. Anyways, I was finally able to narrow down the entire world of Pinterest down to my top 5 favorites beauty and fashion pins of the week! Here ya go! (LOL!)

This bag. Love Coach. Love the color. Need it now.
Dying over these polka dot nails!!
I can't even handle this bra right now...
Or these heels...
I'm obviously on the polka dot train this week.

Splurge and Save

Well hello winter! Back so soon? It was beautiful and warm down here for a few days and then out of nowhere, it was freezing cold! Well not freezing obviously, but low 40's is pretty darn cold to me! Just when I though I could pack up my winter coats! I'm in love with an off-white double breasted coat, but why spend $325 on it? By going with the save option, you are saving over $500! You could go buy yourself a ton of hot chocolate with that!

Splurge and Save

I'm a huge sucker for colored denim. B thinks it's silly, but if I could, I would have an entire spectrum of these jeans! From pastels, to neons, to dark washes, I need them all. One day, one day. Albeit in the future, I'm still not going to want to spend a ton of money on each pair! I mean if I'm going to have every color imaginable, I want to keep the cost on the lower end! For this splurge and save, I've put together a basic look that works great for running errands, a lazy Sunday, or lunch with your best friend! And of course, the mint denim is amazing!

Splurge and Save

One of the many things that I adore about Polyvore is that it allows you to search for similar items within various price ranges. For example, you see a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti pumps that you want but are in no mood to pay $695, choose your price range and search! The pumps below are from Charlotte Russe and only cost $33. That's a $662 savings! Doing research before you shop is a great way to both, save money and build a fashionable wardrobe!

Must Have Wardrobe Essentials

New year, new wardrobe! Looking to refresh your style? Revamp your wardrobe? Then now is the time to start from scratch! When building your wardrobe, it is essential that you add classic pieces that will never go out of style. There are many, many, many style guides out there that suggest various items that should be staples in your closet. After going through much of them, here are my top 10 wardrobe essentials:

wardrobe essentials, must have, fashion, style, skinny jeans, cropped jeans, straight leg jeans, denim, jeans, denim jeans

In my opinion, you should have at least 7 pairs of jeans, one for every day of the week. But this is mostly because I tend to live in jeans. Now, you should find a pair of jeans that best fits your body type. Once you find that certain brand that fits you best, see if they come in different styles, washes, and colors to expand your jean collection! (Links are at the bottom!)

LBD, black dress, girls night out, fashion, style, hi-low dress, long sleeved dress, back bow dress

Every girl needs a little black dress. It’s your go-to dress when you simply have nothing else to where. (Even though you have an entire closet full of clothes.) Your LBD needs to be one that could be worn at any occasion. Not too short, not too fancy, but simple and classic. To mix it up, and add a bit of color to your wardrobe, try a little navy or plum dress. Because these are darker colors, they play the same role as the LBD, but with a twist!
Back Bow Dress Hi-Low Dress Long Sleeved Dress

wardrobe essentials, fashion, must haves, fashion must haves, style, button down, white blouse

The white button down is, and will forever be, a classic wardrobe piece. You can dress it up, dress it down, go to the beach, or head to the grocery store in it! Wear it with jeans, shorts, a skirt, or to bed if you’re feelin’ sexy! Go for one that is light enough to wear even when it’s warm, but can be layered when it’s cold. I mean who follows the “no white after Labor day rule” anyways?
3/4 Length Wrist Length Hand Length

colored leggings, leggings, wardrobe essentials, fashion, must haves, fashion must haves, style,

Go for a variety of colors!! I love full-length leggings because they are so wearable! You can use them under a dress, long shirt, with boots, as workout gear, and so much more! A huge rule that I’ve learned over the years about leggings, is to make sure that whatever you wear on your top half covers your bum. You don’t want to run the chance of your leggings being see-through…
Black Purple Dark Green Wine

classic, wardrobe essentials, fashion, must haves, fashion must haves, style, burberry trench coat, single breasted trench coat, double breasted trench coat, wrap trench coat

The classic trench coat will be either tan or khaki, but of course you could always add black, navy or red to the mix! The length of your trench coat should be around your knees. Maybe a little below, maybe a little above. It all depends on your personal taste. I die over anything with bows. Therefore, having a trench coat that has a bow, or embellishment on the back is a super plus! Also, if you can, have two trench coats in the same color, one double-breasted and one single-breasted.
Single Breasted Wrap Double Breasted

knee length skirt, everyday skirt, how to wear a skirt, wardrobe essentials, fashion, must haves, fashion must haves, style,

A versatile skirt can be worn day or night, winter or summer, and to a special dinner or brunch. This should NOT be a denim skirt. NO, NO, NO. There are plenty of gorgeous printed and patterned skirts out there!!! According to Tim Gunn, (LOVE him!) “the hem of the skirt should be no longer than the bottom of you knee and no shorter than just above the knee.”
Black Leather Gold Pleated Ivory Boucle

wardrobe essentials, fashion, must haves, fashion must haves, style,

You always need a basic tee in your wardrobe. The great thing about basic tees is that they normally don’t cost too much! Why would you spend a ton a basic tee when you will probably replace it soon anyways? Black and white are the obvious basic colors, but you could go for every color your heart desires! Wear your tee with jeans, a skirt, shorts for a classic, simple, and pulled-together look.
Black White Navy

wardrobe essentials, fashion, must haves, fashion must haves, style, how to wear a blazer

A fitted blazer can make anybody looked pulled together. It is the perfect addition to jeans to dress them up for work! Your blazer should be most fitted at your waist, to accentuate your curves. Whether you’re doing business or just running errands, adding a fitted blazer will make you feel important!
Black Navy Wool

wardrobe essentials, fashion, must haves, fashion must haves, style, coach, michael kors, nine west,

I believe that a classic, everyday bag should be either tan or black. Get one in each color if you can. Also, the bag needs to be big enough to hold everything you normally carry around with you. It should not be as big as a tote, but bigger than a clutch. A satchel tends to be the perfect size.
Coach Michael Kors Nine West

jewelry, wardrobe essentials, fashion, must haves, fashion must haves, style, necklace, bracelet, multi strand

Pearls are perfect. You can wear them anywhere, with anything. Nothing says classic elegance like adding a strand of pearls to outfit! Invest in a good quality (real) pearl necklace for special occasions. For everyday wear, plenty of stores have pearl necklaces, bracelets, and other accessories!
