Splurge and Save: 4th of July

When I think about the Fourth of July, I'm always flooded with memories of barbecues, fireworks, and family time. In high school, when I lived at home, we would always sit on the deck of my dad's house because we could see the fireworks happening down at the river. But sadly when I moved to Tallahassee for college, I never really went out for any events on the 4th. Only once when my dad and step sister came to visit did I go see fireworks. After I moved back home, but with Briam this time, we would go down to Palm Beach Gardens and sit on the roof of the parking garage at City Place, eating ice cream, and watch the fireworks from there. Not sure what the plans are for this year, but either way, it'll be fun. 

Now that we've had a random trip down memory lane, I wanted to give you all a summery yet sexy outfit that you could rock on the 4th! Being in South Florida, and dying in the heat, tanks are a must! Always remember, no matter what the occasion, there's always a way to save!

New Mark. Magalog March 2013

I can't believe that we're already on the third magalog! Where is the year going? Time is seriously flying by! This mag is all about spring! With beauty pastel colors and great fashion items and tips for the upcoming season, it's a pretty darn good magalog to shop in! Even though it's still a little chilly here, and probably freezing else where, this mag is definitely warming up!

February: What I Learned

Whoa, February is over? It has literally flown by! This month has been quite the whirlwind! Between school, work, this blog, and my health, I thought I was going to lose my mind. But alas I did not. I made it. I made it through midterms and papers, multiple work events, getting behind on blog posts, and  being emotionally stable while gaining five pounds. To round this out, here are five things I learned this month!

I can't wait to see what March will bring!

Again another crazy week for me. As much as I love keeping busy, these past two weeks have been ridiculous. This past weekend I was away for a Ballroom Competition at a hotel that didn't have WiFi in the ballroom. And then you add two papers, a midterm, and basic homework assignments, all done this morning, I'm on a roll! This week's Saturday Sets don't include the amazing sets created by people on Polyvore, they're my sets, again. And it's not Saturday... it's Monday. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I'm not sure, this week has been beyond crazy for me. Between midterms, seeing my doctor, work, Valentine's Day, getting to eat veggies again, and getting to see my friend Zack play Mary Sunshine in Chicago, I haven't had a second to breathe. Saturday Sets

With Valentine's Day being only 5 days away, I decided that I wanted this week's Saturday Sets to be romantic! I know that some people call it "Single's Awareness Day", but I love Valentine's Day! It doesn't have to be about you and your significant other! This is a day to show everyone you love how much they mean to you! Go on a date with your friends, take you parents to dinner, call your grandma! Love is love, no matter who you share it with.

Splurge and Save

I love polka dots! I think they're so cute and absolutely adorable! By choosing the "save" outfit, you save $1,150! Do you know how many more outfits you could buy with that? Or bills you could pay... Either way, if you want to be economically savvy and save your money for other things, go with the "save" outfit. There's absolutely no reason to spend so much money on a basic outfit. Always look for brands that are low in price but high in quality!

The second mark. magalog of the year is out!! There are so many gorgeous things in the catalog it is truly unbelievable! I love that the cover is so inspiring and motivational! Shine on and stand out in a crowd! You all know I love anything that shines, sparkles, or glitters and that's what this entire magalog is all about! How exciting is that?? 

I have to say I'm most excited about the new Glimmer Shine Lipglosses and the Jewel Shine Perfume! I already have these and I love them! I got them when I won a the prize bundle from mark.!

This week's Saturday Sets draws inspiration from a very popular color, mustard! This color is a huge trend in the fashion world right now. I love that you can use a simple accessories and create an entire look with this color and still look fabulous! Mustard can be causal or your can dress it up, so versatile! Things I Love: Disney Tee Shirts

One very big thing that you should know about me is that I really love Disney. I'm not talking about the Disney Channel, even though I am guilty of watching it more often than a 22 year old should, I'm talking about the real Disney. I mostly associate the "real" Disney with Walt Disney World because it involves all of the beloved characters from the past! Mickey, Minnie, Cinderella, Snow White, and so many more! I was thrilled once they revamped Fantasy land and added more interactions with Belle and Ariel! When B and I went over Christmas, I was singing the entire time on Ariel's ride! 

One of the things I love about Disney's fashions is that they're beginning to make it more wearable. It no longer looks touristy or like something that would be cute if my grandma wore it. If I could, I would probably have an entire closet dedicated to Disney clothes, with a few princess gowns include! Here are my four favorite tee shirts from the Disney Store! 

I seriously LOVE #2 and #4! I'm strongly considering that B and I get them to wear the next time we go to Disney!

January: What I Learned

January has been quite some month for me. I was told that I have Hashimoto's, I'm pre-diabetic, and all of this is going to cost a butt load because I don't have health insurance. Then you add school, work, and the blog to it all, it's just crazy. I do love my crazy life though. I'm in my last year of college, my last year at my current job, and my first year working on my blog that I absolutely love. To top this off, here are the five things I learned this month!

2013 is going to be a crazy year, but it's my year, I can feel it!

Here in Florida, it's pretty common to find us wearing shorts and sweaters. It balances us out. The way most of the winters are here, you need either a sweater or pants, but rarely both. Of course we have really "cold" days where we look like eskimos, but this is for the most part. Why do I love this style? Because I stay just warm enough and just cool enough all at the same time!

Things I Love: JustFab Shoes

JustFab.com is an absolutely amazing website with the most perfect shoes! There are some months, between school, work, the website, and life, I don't have time to pick up essential shoes. JustFab offers a wide range of shoes for only $39.95 a month. Considering that most of these shoes are worth at least $80, that's not too bad. The sizing has been the same for me with all of the shoes that I've gotten. I'm measured a 7.5 and I keep purchasing 8's. I'm sure the 7.5 would fit, but I have wide feet so I give myself that extra .5 size for comfort. I love all of their shoes, but I'm mostly obsessed with the boots. How To Wear: Stripes

I love stripes! They range across a wide variety of styles from causal to nautical to edgy. Stripes are extremely versatile, which makes them easy to wear! From the thickness of the stripes to the direction and color, stripes are definitely something to keep in your wardrobe!

Splurge and Save

Umm over $3,00 for a dress?? No thanks. I'll take the simpler, less budget crushing dress. Although the shoes are comparable in price, this just shows you that you can still save a little bit of money! There's only a $20 difference, but those $20 can go a long way! Now with the dress, I understand that the splurge dress is probably hand crafted with the finest materials that took a year to make. But why? In my opinion, it looks like they threw on some confetti and called it a day. The save dress is way more versatile and $3,193 cheaper. 

Fun fact: The splurge dress with sell in a hot second in the ballroom world. Having been to a few competitions, as a retailer, I've seen plenty of dresses like this that cost just as much if not more.
