Tutorial: Subtle Purple Smoky Eyes

When creating a smoky eye, purple is by far my favorite color to use. I feel that with purple, you can create a soft, subtle look that's great for casual wear while maintaing that smoky eye effect. While other colors can be too drastic and definitely require a girl's night out, this subtle purple smoky eye look is perfect for a simple date night or lunch with friends or family! Keep reading to see what I used and how I accomplished this look!

Products I Used:

1. Sephora Purple Smoky Eyes Palette
2. Urban Decay Primer Potion
3. Ulta Extreme Wear Gel Liner in Strut
4. Duo Eyelash Glue in Dark
5. Ardell DuraLash Accents in Bold
6. Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara
Steps:

1. Prime your lid with the shadow primer.
2. Using a shadow brush, apply the warm tan matte shadow all over the lid.
3. Taking a crease brush, start working the dark purple matte shadow in the crease. Build until desired color shows.
4. Going back to the shadow brush, apply the lighter purple shadow to the lid, staying under the crease.

5. Using a blending brush, use the warm tan color again and blend out the harsh line just above the crease. Taking the same brush, use the shimmery peach shadow to highlight the inner corner of the eyes and under the brow bone. Using an angled liner brush, line the eyes with a purple gel eyeliner.
6. Apply the glue to your false lashes and wait about 30 seconds before applying them to allow the to become tacky. While you wait, apply one coat of mascara to your lashes. Apply the lashes to your lids, as close to the lash line as you can.
7. Once the glue has dried on your lashes, go back and touch up any places that may need more eyeliner.
8. Apply one more coat of mascara to your lashes to adhere them to the false ones.
Now you have a subtle purple smoky eye look that you can easily wear on a casual night out!

Saturday Sets

I swear this is the last week that I let myself get behind and use my own sets here. By using my own sets, I'm not promoting what these posts are supposed to be about, other creators! I want to show you guys what other people are creating, because ya know, everyone has different styles and tastes. I find looks that may not catch my eye right away, but the more I spend time looking at it, the more I love it! Okay, with my promise being made, this week's theme is dresses. After going to the charity ball, I saw so many beautiful gowns. Now I know therese aren't gowns, but they are some pretty sexy dresses that you could easily wear out on a date or with your friends!

February: What I Learned

Whoa, February is over? It has literally flown by! This month has been quite the whirlwind! Between school, work, this blog, and my health, I thought I was going to lose my mind. But alas I did not. I made it. I made it through midterms and papers, multiple work events, getting behind on blog posts, and  being emotionally stable while gaining five pounds. To round this out, here are five things I learned this month!

I can't wait to see what March will bring!

How to Wear: Bright Shorts

Three very serious wardrobe staples here in South Florida are t-shirts, shorts, and sandals. During Spring and Summer, we practically live in this look! After a while though, you get tired of wearing the normal denim shorts and basic tee. Sometimes you want to spice it up a bit! This week, I'm showing you three different ways to incorporate bright colored shorts into your wardrobe!

Saturday Sets

Again another crazy week for me. As much as I love keeping busy, these past two weeks have been ridiculous. This past weekend I was away for a Ballroom Competition at a hotel that didn't have WiFi in the ballroom. And then you add two papers, a midterm, and basic homework assignments, all done this morning, I'm on a roll! This week's Saturday Sets don't include the amazing sets created by people on Polyvore, they're my sets, again. And it's not Saturday... it's Monday. Either way, the theme of this week's Saturday Sets is date night! These are all looks that I've put together that would be great for a wide range of dates! All varying from sexy and edgy, to romantic and girly!

How to Wear: Floral Print

For the past couple of days now, it's been so cold! But that's according to my Floridian standards. I believe that anything below 70 is freezing. So go ahead and laugh, I know. Because of the weather, I've been dreaming of spring and summer. The warm days and cool nights. To keep my happy mood going, and pretending it's warm, I've put together three different ways to wear floral prints! With spring right around the corner, florals are the perfect way to welcome the season.

Saturday Sets

Unfortunately, or fortunately, I'm not sure, this week has been beyond crazy for me. Between midterms, seeing my doctor, work, Valentine's Day, getting to eat veggies again, and getting to see my friend Zack play Mary Sunshine in Chicago, I haven't had a second to breathe. Because of all of this, I didn't get a chance to look through Polyvore for some amazing sets for this post.

Instead, I've compiled some of my favorite sets that I've created that go along with my theme of midterms. More like what to wear to school! Here are my favorites five sets, created by me, showing a variety of fashions you could wear to class!

Saturday Sets

With Valentine's Day being only 5 days away, I decided that I wanted this week's Saturday Sets to be romantic! I know that some people call it "Single's Awareness Day", but I love Valentine's Day! It doesn't have to be about you and your significant other! This is a day to show everyone you love how much they mean to you! Go on a date with your friends, take you parents to dinner, call your grandma! Love is love, no matter who you share it with.

Here are five different looks, all romantic and appropriate for Valentine's Day with anyone you love!

Splurge and Save

I love polka dots! I think they're so cute and absolutely adorable! By choosing the "save" outfit, you save $1,150! Do you know how many more outfits you could buy with that? Or bills you could pay... Either way, if you want to be economically savvy and save your money for other things, go with the "save" outfit. There's absolutely no reason to spend so much money on a basic outfit. Always look for brands that are low in price but high in quality!

Saturday Sets

This week's Saturday Sets draws inspiration from a very popular color, mustard! This color is a huge trend in the fashion world right now. I love that you can use a simple accessories and create an entire look with this color and still look fabulous! Mustard can be causal or your can dress it up, so versatile! There were so many sets that had bits a pieces of mustard color in them, it was so hard to choose! But alas, these are my top five favorite sets from this past week! (No particular order, I love them all the same!)
