Get Ready With Me: Thanksgiving with My Family

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Mine was quite an interesting, but pleasant one! I worked late on Wednesday the 27th, stayed up until 4:30am on Thursday morning with Briam cooking the turkey, made cocito with Briam's mom around noon, and got to my parent's house at 2. We had dinner with my parents, my stepsister, and her two friends around 3. Briam and I left before 5 because I wanted to take a quick nap before work, but that nap never actually happened.

I went to work at 8pm on Thanksgiving and pushed through the craziness of Black Friday until 3:30am. I then went back to work at 3:00pm and stayed until midnight. My Thanksgiving weekend was crazy. I'm very thankful that I had my family and Briam there to keep me going.

At dinner, it's tradition in my family that we each say what we're thankful for that year. I want you all to know that I'm thankful for you. Each time you read a post or leave a comment, my heart flutters. It means so much to me that you take time out of your day to read my posts and watch my videos. Thank you for being there for me.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Tutorial: Subtle Purple Smoky Eyes

When creating a smoky eye, purple is by far my favorite color to use. I feel that with purple, you can create a soft, subtle look that's great for casual wear while maintaing that smoky eye effect. While other colors can be too drastic and definitely require a girl's night out, this subtle purple smoky eye look is perfect for a simple date night or lunch with friends or family! Keep reading to see what I used and how I accomplished this look!

Products I Used:

1. Sephora Purple Smoky Eyes Palette
2. Urban Decay Primer Potion
3. Ulta Extreme Wear Gel Liner in Strut
4. Duo Eyelash Glue in Dark
5. Ardell DuraLash Accents in Bold
6. Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara

1. Prime your lid with the shadow primer.
2. Using a shadow brush, apply the warm tan matte shadow all over the lid.
3. Taking a crease brush, start working the dark purple matte shadow in the crease. Build until desired color shows.
4. Going back to the shadow brush, apply the lighter purple shadow to the lid, staying under the crease.

5. Using a blending brush, use the warm tan color again and blend out the harsh line just above the crease. Taking the same brush, use the shimmery peach shadow to highlight the inner corner of the eyes and under the brow bone. Using an angled liner brush, line the eyes with a purple gel eyeliner.
6. Apply the glue to your false lashes and wait about 30 seconds before applying them to allow the to become tacky. While you wait, apply one coat of mascara to your lashes. Apply the lashes to your lids, as close to the lash line as you can.
7. Once the glue has dried on your lashes, go back and touch up any places that may need more eyeliner.
8. Apply one more coat of mascara to your lashes to adhere them to the false ones.
Now you have a subtle purple smoky eye look that you can easily wear on a casual night out!

If you try this look, let me know! Send me a picture of your recreation on any of my social media networks!

Review: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters

I have to say I truly love these Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters! I have 16 out of the 19 colors posted on the Revlon website. My favorite colors are Sugar Plum, Raspberry Pie, Peach Parfait, and Red Velvet! The formula of these lip butters is outstanding! The colors are slightly sheer, as you can see in the picture, but are very buildable! I can get a solid red lip with Red Velvet! When you put it on your lips it's so smooth and creamy! One day at work I had forgotten my chapstick, so I found creamsicle in my purse and used that instead! Worked like a charm! I always keep one in my purse now. I can't wait to finish my collection!

Makeup Storage: How I Store Mine

When you're limited on space, storing your makeup can prove to be a difficult task. Although I have a decent sized office, it's also where I workout. Because of that, I don't want extra furniture taking up space. My desk and shelf already do enough of that. My dresser is actually in my closet, which is good because I put all of my makeup and hair tools on top of it.

If you're looking for an easy affordable way to store your makeup, that is easily accessible and doesn't require much space, this is for you!

I got these photo storage cases from Hobby Lobby. I love them! I got each case for about $25, with a 40% off coupon! That may seem like a lot, but for the amount of makeup I have, it's a great deal. Each have 16 smaller compartments inside where I separate my makeup by category.

In the box on the left, I store all of single eyeshadows, liners, mascaras, lashes, and half of my face products. The box on the right contains all of my lipsticks, lipgloss, lip balms, and the second half of my face products!

For all of my palettes and brushes/tools, I use this little 3 container storage set from Target. I got it during the "back to school: college" time. It's the perfect size for all of my palettes and I love that I can basically disassemble it and take with me only what I need.

The second container holds a mini Z palette, 3 mark. palettes, 2 Avon palettes, 1 Sephora smoky eye palette, and 2 tinted moisturizers from mark. that wouldn't fit in my bigger cases.
