Motivational Monday: Start Now and Live Your Dreams

The other day I was doing my usual routine at work, fixing clothes, folding panties, etc. But the conversation I was having with one of the girls I work with was a little different. Typically we talk about our boyfriends, makeup, funny things, and what not. This day we were talking about our dreams and our goals for the future. She's very good at her job, I mean really good, but I know she doesn't want to work in retail forever.

She had mentioned that she was thinking about going back to school for interior design, but wasn't too sure about it. I had questioned her a little bit about her hesitancy and listened to her concerns. Turns out, she and I are pretty similar. The whole "jack of all trades" type. I like a bit of everything, and i'd like to actually accomplish a bit of everything. So does she.

I guess my little story for you was to stress the importance of doing what you love no matter what. You can work, go to school, have a family, and still pursue your dreams! There are so many ways to accomplish so much these days! Online course, self teaching, night school, and much more.

I have a friend who works 2 job and is going to school to be a surgical technician. Another is working, raising her daughter as a single mother, and going to school to be a social worker. I'm working, running a blog and 2 YouTube channels, and preparing to go for my MBA.

There is always time for you to live your dreams. Start now and you'll never regret it.

Motivational Monday: Trust Your Journey

This is something that I have to remind myself everyday. It's hard when you see your goals and they feel so very far away. I know I've talked about understanding your happiness and following your dreams and what not, but that can get really hard sometimes. I find myself having to step back, take a deep breath, and continue moving forward. I have to trust my journey. My step-mom likes to say, "It's not your time." Eh, moms always know best, right?

Most recently, and my step-mom unintentionally laughs every time I freak out, a large amount of people I know have been getting engaged and/or married. And every time I see a status on Facebook or a post on Instagram, I lose my shit. And I don't mean to be profane, but I really don't know how else to describe it. I seriously just lose it. Best example, and God bless Briam for handling my "moments" with stride, I saw on IG today a post about a Maid of Honor proposal and how that date had already been set, despite getting engaged like 3 weeks ago. And the month, October, has been my month for ever, as long as I can remember. I legit lost it about this girl planning her wedding in October, MY MONTH. Poor Briam just looks over at me and says, "November is nice too! October is scary, with Halloween and all. November is about being thankful. That's better for our wedding." Bless him. Bless him so much.

I told this story to my step-mom and she just laughed. Because she knows that I'm not losing it in a "jealous, crazy, psycho" way, but in a "Why isn't it my time?" way.

So the whole point of this post is that if there is something in your life that you really want, but aren't receiving, then it's not your time. We don't always remember that God has an exact plan for how our lives are going to turn out. And of course He's not going to lead you in the wrong direction. So just know that it's not your time. You will have what you want one day, and if it doesn't happen, God will provide you with the peace to accept that. You'll never be left hanging.

Trust your journey.

Motivational Monday: In Due Time

I'm not one that's known for having a great deal of patience. My best example, if my appointment anywhere is at 12:30, I expect to be seen at 12:30. I get so frustrated if I have to wait. I also seriously dislike waiting for Briam to finish getting ready if I'm already done. And then if we're walking out the door and he decides to do something...ugghhh. Come on now.

But it's something I'm working on. It's a character flaw that I have and I honestly recognize it. But patience is something that we all need to have. Some people are born with this natural ability to endure so much. Some people like myself, are not. We have to work everyday on being patient and finding our center of calm. This is important in day to day life and when it comes to your future and accomplishing your dreams.

My dad always told me that the last thing I should be in my life is a quitter. He would say, "Quitters don't win, they quit." And all through my childhood I was dead set on never quitting. I worked my ass off at everything I did. I was a dancer for 11 years, and by the time I was ready to graduate high school, I was competing in solo competitions on a national level. I applied to 4 universities, I got into all 4. Even had a full scholarship to the private college. But for some reason something turned off in my head. I lost my drive. I became a quitter. Sorry dad.

It's been 6 years that I've been out of high school. It's about damn time that I get my groove back! If you read my last Motivational Monday post then you know that I revamped my resolutions. Well, if we're being honest here, and I hope we can be honest, I haven't begun any of my resolutions.

So I'm taking a personal pledge right now to find the patience within my self and begin working on my resolutions. And I know for a fact that each resolutions will surely take time. So if you're ready to revamp your resolutions and get whatever issue you have in order, then join me and we can do this together! There's no reason to do anything alone.
