Tutorial: Glammed Up New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve is such a glamorous night. All the parties, dress, fireworks, champagne, and promise of a new year. I love going out with Briam and being able to share the beginning of a new year with him. We talk about our resolutions, watch the fireworks, and normally get some kind of ice cream. It always feels like a refreshing way to start your new year off right!

For those of you who are looking for a more glamorous look to rock on your NYE night out, then you've come to the right place! This look is inspired by all of the gold and black decor your normally see around this holiday. Not to mention, it's quite sexy and very dramatic!

Tutorial: Festive Holiday Look

For me, there's a wonderful feeling that I get each year whenever the holidays are around. It can be described as an overwhelming amount of joy and happiness, all whilst being quite humble. I love the holidays. It used to be about the presents and food, now it's all about family. Each year Briam and I do something different. Sometimes we go to his family's house, my parents house, or we just go away together. Nothing makes me happier than being with the people I love.

For this look, I was inspired by the cranberry and gold hues of my parents house when my step-mom decorates each year. It's always so beautiful. Most of these products are pretty affordable and are easy to find! Don't have something? Swap it out for what you do have! Or put it on your holiday wish list!

I do my best though! I try to keep an "everyday" tray so it makes applying makeup before work or what not much easier. Hope you like my collection! Have something that I do too? Love it? Tell me!

Get Ready With Me: Wedding Chic

I love weddings. Not only am I beyond happy for the blissful couple, but it makes marriage seem more real for Briam and I. Because the wedding was for a good friend of his, I think it makes him see that settling down and "putting a ring on it." I gave up the idea of getting married at Disney just because the price would be outrageous. A girl can dream though! I still consider myself a princess because one day I'll marry my prince.

Well that's enough of me babbling about my fairy tale ending, let's get into this look! For the wedding I wore a beautiful midi dress from Anthropologie, some jewels from Chloe + Isabel, and shoes from Charlotte Russe. No need for a purse, that's what I have Briam for! I curled my hair, tousled it around, and spritzed with hairspray. Keep scrolling to see what I used for my makeup!

Recipe: Special Holiday Sugar Cookies

I love cookies, and so does Briam. I wanted to make a holiday treat that was fun, flavorful, and easy to make. I found this recipe from Alton Brown and altered it just a little bit to my liking and how I wanted to make the cookies. To see how to make your own holiday sugar cookies, keep reading! Don't forget to share your sugar cookies with me on Twitter and Instagram by using the hashtag #cmxoxosugarcookies

What You'll Need:
3 C All Purpose Flour, 3/4 tsp Baking Powder, and 1/4 tsp Salt
1 C Unsalted Butter (softened), 1 C Sugar, 1 Egg (beaten), 1 tbsp Milk for dough and 6 tbsp for icing, 3 C Powdered Sugar for icing
Extracts: Mint, Cinnamon, and Raspberry. Food Coloring: Green, Red, and Blue
Holiday Cookie Cutters
Directions:
Sift together the flour , baking powder, and salt. Set Aside.
Mix butter and sugar until mixed thoroughly and looks like the picture below
Ta Da!
Add the egg (I forgot to beat mine, still did just fine) and 1 tbsp of milk. Beat again.
Add the flour mixture to your butter mixture and beat until it becomes a solid dough. Separate  into 3 different bowls.
Add 1 tbsp of food coloring and extract to each respective dough bowls and mix together. Roll them in plastic wrap and let set in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
Bake your cookies at 375 degrees for 7-9 minutes. They should be slightly brown around the edges.
Oh Christmas Tree Oh Christmas Tree
Some of mine had too much fun in the oven...
To make the icing: Combine 3 C Powdered Sugar with 6 tbsp of Milk. I t will look and taste like what goes on a cinnamon bun.
SPRINKLES!!!!
MORE SPRINKLES!!!!
SO MANY SPRINKLES!!!!!
Let the icing harden for about 1 hour and plate your cookies! Yummy!
